Rondale Moore was a standout wide-receiver ever since his college career at Purdue. Even though he may be on the shorter end of receivers at only 5’ 7”, he is not small, weighing 181 pounds of pure muscle. At the NFL combine, Moore ran a 4.29 40 yard dash which is way faster than the average receiver. Moore was drafted as the 49th pick to the Arizona Cardinals in the 2021 draft. In Arizona he racked up a total of 135 receptions, 1,201 yards, and 3 touchdowns. His average yards per catch was 9, making him a very reliable receiver. He later got traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024, before joining the Minnesota Vikings in 2025.
Unfortunately, Moore’s career ended on February 21st where he was found unconscious in his garage in New Albany Indiana. This incident was caused by a self inflicted gunshot wound. Exactly ten years ago, Moore posted a tweet which wrote “Note to self: Be patient.” This was on February 21st, 2016. This post may have foreshadowed his suicide, meaning he was planning this for multiple years.
Many of Rondale’s former teammates were very shocked at the news of his death. J.J. Watt, a former teammate of Moore posted, “Can’t even begin to fathom or process this. There’s just no way, Way too special. So much left to give. Rest in Peace Rondale.” Another former teammate, Zach Allen wrote, “Rest in Peace Rondale… It was an honor to be your teammate. Always check on your people. You just never know.”
