March Madness is an annual basketball tournament for different colleges all around the country to compete for the NABC National Championship Trophy. The tournament starts with a total of 68 teams with 4 divisions. Each round, about half the teams get eliminated until the final four. The final four is made up of 1 team from each region: South, West, Midwest, and East. Two more games are played to decide the final two teams, and those teams fight for the trophy.

This year’s final four consisted of Uconn, Arizona, Illinois, and Michigan. 3 seed Illinois played 2 seed Uconn, where Uconn came out on top with a victory of 71-62. 1 seed Michigan played 1 seed Arizona, where Michigan won with a score of 91-73. This year’s final was between Michigan and Uconn where the Wolverines barely clinched a victory with a final score of 69-63. This was their first championship since 1989 where they beat Seton Hall in overtime 80-79.

Michigan shot 21/55 with a 38.2% make percentage. From three, they shot 2/15 with a 13.3% make percentage. They shot 25/28 on free throws with an impressive 89.3% make percentage. They had a total of 36 rebounds, 10 on offense and 26 on defense. Michigan racked up 7 assists, 6 blocks, and 6 steals. Their guard, Elliot Cadeau, had a very impressive game, scoring a total of 19 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
