We officially have a rematch of SuperBowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks! On Sunday, January 25, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Denver Broncos in a low score game 10-7. The Seattle Seahawks hosted a thriller against the Los Angeles Rams, barely beating them because of an error on a punt return 31-27.
Currently, the Seattle Seahawks are heavily favored to win the SuperBowl by many of the NFL’s analysts. On average, the Seahawks are thought to end the game with about 25 points, out scoring the Patriots’ 19. Although, every analyst’s prediction said it would be a one score game, so it truly could go either way.
The Seahawks have a very powerful offense led by star wide-receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and trending quarterback Sam Darnold. They also have a very powerful run game led by Zach Charbonnet (injured) and Kenneth Walker III. The Seahawks currently have the best defense in the league ranked in Defense-adjusted Value Over Average.
The Patriots are led by their runner-up for the MVP trophy, quarterback, Drake Maye. They also have multiple other offensive weapons such as veteran wide-receiver Stefon Diggs and running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson. The Patriots also have the 8th best ranked defense in the NFL.
