The month of October is the perfect time to sit down and watch some sports. With October coming to an end, sports like the NFL and MLB are really heating up.
National Football League (NFL) –
The NFL is now 7 weeks into their 18 week season. Many teams have been a surprise so far, others have performed just as expected. In the American Football Conference (AFC), the Indianapolis Colts are the best performing team with a 6-1 record. The Colts are projected to win the AFC. The second best performing team currently is the New England Patriots with a 4-2 record. They are predicted to win their division, the AFC East. In the National Football Conference (NFC), the Green Bay Packers are predicted to win the NFC with a 4-1-1 record. The second best team in the NFC is the San Francisco 49ers who have a 5-2 record and they are predicted to win the NFC West.
Major League Baseball (MLB) –
The MLB is hosting its first world series game on October 24, 2025, at 6:00pm. This first-to-4-wins series will feature the Toronto Blue Jays, and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers have already won 8 World Series and plan to 2-peat after winning last year’s series. The Blue Jays have won 2 World Series and are looking to bounce back after finishing last in their division last year. Currently, the Dodgers are predicted to be the World Series champions.
National Basketball Association (NBA) –
The NBA is about 2 games into their 82 game season. The most intriguing game so far has the Oklahoma City Thunder vs the Pacers game, the championship rematch. The game went into double overtime with a final score of 141-135, having the Thunder win. The “player of the game” Shai Gilegous-Alexander put up a whopping 55 points, helping them clinch the victory. Although some argue that these points weren’t earned because of Shai’s 26 free throw attempts, earning him 23 points. Shai Alexander has already received slander for his amount of free throw attempts he had last season. He has been called a free throw merchant because people think he is flopping to get calls. Most fans cannot decide whether he has generational talent or generational acting.
