Recently, ten Flagstaff students presented their STEM Fair projects at the Corden Pharma Regional Science Fair in Boulder. Five Dragons earned awards from the BVSD Regional Science Fair! Below are the awards that students won:

Nhi Vuong, “Glucose Absorption in the Small Intestine”: 1st place Plant Sciences, ThermoFisher Qualifier 

Anvi Hebbar, “Which Herbs are the Most Effective Plant Repellant?”: 3rd place Animal Sciences

Madeleine Hahn, “Creating the Best Biodegradable Straw”: 2nd place Earth & Environmental Sciences, greenBVSD Sustainability Award 

Dhriti Mehta, “Most Effective Note-taking Strategies”:  1st place Behavioral & Social Sciences, ThermoFisher Qualifier 

Adam West, “The Best Way to Clean Up an Oil Spill”: Soil & Water Conservation Society Award 

Additionally, only thirteen middle school projects were chosen to move onto State this year and we have two of them! Nhi & Dhriti aren’t done yet and will be presenting their projects in April at CSU.
