Ella: Chocolate – Chocolate is way better than vanilla for an infinite amount of reasons. For one, chocolate ice cream is so much better than vanilla, which is boring compared to chocolate. Vanilla ice cream often tastes too sweet, meanwhile chocolate is the perfect balance of sweet and rich. Also, there’s no such thing as vanilla bars, but there are such things as chocolate bars, which are one of the tastiest delicacies. You can have chocolate on its own, in cookies, brownies, smore’s, pudding, and much more. Meanwhile, vanilla is not eaten on its own. Ever tried consuming straight vanilla extract? It tastes terrible. You know what you can drink that tastes absolutely amazing? Hot chocolate. This drink is one of the best drinks in the world, and of course, it has chocolate in it, explaining why it’s so good. Some may argue that vanilla extract is used in most baking recipes, and while this is true, it doesn’t mean that it is better than chocolate. A study by the US National Cancer Institute states that people who eat about 12 grams of chocolate per day (about 2 pieces from a typical chocolate bar), have a 12% lower chance of dying compared to those who don’t eat chocolate at all. If that isn’t a good enough reason for chocolate to be better than vanilla, the same study showed that those who eat chocolate are 16% less likely to die from heart disease, and 12% less likely to die from cancer.
Ben: Vanilla – Vanilla is much better than chocolate because it’s so much more versatile. You have vanilla extract, vanilla ice cream, vanilla perfume, and other stuff that uses vanilla. Chocolate can not do as much as vanilla. Plus, vanilla ice cream tastes way better than chocolate ice cream. Vanilla is used in so many other recipes like cookies, creme brulee, and cheesecake. These are staples of the dessert category. Vanilla can also be used outside of cooking, like vanilla soap, vanilla scent, and flavoured drinks. You can sprinkle vanilla into almost anything, your coffee, your cologne, and in skin care products. Vanilla has a lot of health properties, like being an anti-oxidant, anti-depressant, and also an anti-inflammatory. Chocolate can overpower a recipe when you add it, but when you add vanilla it adds a softer and slightly sweeter flavor, enhancing the recipe. These are the reasons why vanilla is superior to chocolate.
