Hello, Dragons! For this month’s debate, we will be discussing what the best breakfast food is: waffles, pancakes, or French toast!
Ella: Waffles – While there are many different breakfast foods, all of which are splendid, waffles are clearly the best choice. That warm, buttery heaven coated in maple syrup and powdered sugar is impossible to resist. One of the best parts about eating waffles is filling up each crevice with syrup, adding the perfect sweetness. When it comes to waffles, there are so many toppings that can be added apart from syrup, especially fruit. When putting fruit on your waffles, similarly to the syrup, each piece falls right into the crevices of the waffle without falling off, as they might if you put it on a pancake. Some more include whipped cream, jam, powdered sugar, and chocolate syrup. Overall, there are endless reasons why waffles are superior to pancakes and French toast, but these are just a few.
Anvi: Pancakes – Pancakes are obviously the best breakfast food because they are easy to make, very spreadable, can have a lot of toppings on them, can come in a lot of different flavors, and are absolutely delicious. Think of how easy it is to spread butter on pancakes compared to waffles. With all of the holes in the waffle, butter gets stuck and doesn’t reach some places as well. A lot of toppings also go really well on pancakes, including syrup, fruit, jam, and so much more. Also pancakes can have flavors incorporated into the batter because they don’t burn. Pancakes are easier to make too, with no special maker needed. All you need is a pan. They are more filling because they aren’t all airy, so they make the perfect breakfast.
Gossamer: French Toast – Think of a mix between a waffle and a pancake, sounds pretty heavenly, right? Well, you can achieve that with a breakfast food as wonderful as French toast! With French toast, you have a fluffy, tender, and quick breakfast. There’s no batter required, unlike waffles and pancakes, only an egg mixture, and they are just a loaf of bread dunked into said batter. No extra preparation needed, especially when you are very hungry early in the morning. Every topping goes well on French toast, and if you’re feeling spicy, you could probably make a savory version! Syrup, jam, berries, eggs, and bacon prove French toast a reputable breakfast item.
