Berets Off to Our French Students

Leha Moskoff, Spectrum Advisor

On March 12, 2020, Ms. Stone’s 1a, 1b, and 2 French students took a national exam through the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), called Le Grand Concours. Students participated based on their skill level and were tested on both listening and reading comprehension.

Flagstaff Academy uses D’Accord as their French textbook, which is a high school level curriculum. But even with such advanced studies, Stone said that “there is truly no good way to prepare for this exam.”

Le Grand Concours is broken into regions, with Flagstaff Academy falling into the Colorado/Wyoming chapter. Students are ranked according to the number of correct questions they answer.

Ms. Stone said, “Angel G. […] worked hard this year. He kinda rocked it, and Ishika G. was ranked number one!”

Students who received the top ten possible scores in the Colorado/Wyoming chapter are:

Ishika G.

Angel G.

Anothy R.

Oliver F.

Emma O.

Eliza N.

Ali K.

Jackie C.C.

Dylan B.

Students who nationally ranked 50% or higher are:

Ishika G.

Angel G.

Jeslyn H.

Mira C.

Emma O.
