WARNING: Make sure to do the following project with an adult for extra precaution.

To Make Oobleck, you will need:

  • One cup of water
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups of corn starch
  • A few drops of food coloring (optional, but fun!)
  • A spoon
  • A bowl

Instructions:

  1. Put your water into a bowl.
  2. Begin adding the corn starch to the bowl with water in it.
  3. Use your spoon and begin mixing the water and corn starch together as you add the corn starch.
  4. As you get closer to adding all of the 1 ½ cups of corn starch, begin to mix slower and with your hands.
  5. You might need to adjust the amount of water and/or corn starch. The goal is to have a consistency where the mixture is a liquid, yet also a solid.
  6. When the oobleck is the consistency you would like, add some food coloring!
  7. Now it’s time to start playing with your oobleck! Have fun and start exploring your oobleck!
