Recipes- October- Pumpkin Bread

Note: This makes TWO loaves of bread.

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 ⅔ cups of sugar
  • ⅔ cups of shortening or butter
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 2 cups of pumpkin
  • ⅔ cups of water
  • 3 ⅓ cups of flour
  • ½ teaspoon of baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon of cloves
  • ⅔ cups of nuts

 

Directions:

  1. Cream the sugar and shortening. 
  2. Add the eggs, pumpkins, and water. Mix well.
  3. Stir the dry ingredients and then add to the wet ingredients.
  4. Add the nuts.
  5. Stir together and then pour on two greased loaf pans.
  6. Bake at 350° for one hour. Then test with a toothpick. If it comes back clean, it’s ready!
  7. Enjoy!
