There are only 6 NFL teams that remain undefeated after week 3, the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, and finally the Indianapolis Colts. Some of these teams were expected to perform well, others have been a surprise.
The Philadelphia Eagles have won their three games against the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Los Angeles Rams. Their point differential, or how many points they outscored their opponents by, is +14. Meaning if you combine all of their scores and subtracted their opponents, you’d get 14. Their quarterback, Jalen Hurts, has only three passing attempts over 10 yards, showing that the Eagles are a very run dependent team. The Eagles were already expected to be one of the best teams in the NFL, and they haven’t disappointed so far. We’ll see if they can take their momentum to another superbowl victory.
The Buffalo Bills earned their wins against the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and the Miami Dolphins. Their point differential is +31. The Bills were losing 40-25 and managed to comeback and win last minute against Baltimore in week 1. The Bills were also presumed to be a good team and considering how the Kansas City Chiefs are 1-2, they might be able to get a trip to the Super Bowl.
The Los Angeles Chargers obtained their wins over the Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Denver Broncos. Their point differential is +20. The Chargers have already taken down every one of their divisional rivals, making them the clear favorite in their division.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers earned their wins against the Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans, and the New York Jets. Their point differential is +6. They have the lowest point differential of all the 3-0 teams so far. All of their wins have happened within the last 2 minutes of the game as well. However, the Bucs have dealt with a multitude of injuries so far, which could tank their season.
The San Francisco 49ers beat out the Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, and the Arizona Cardinals. Their point differential is +10. Like the Bucs, most of their team is out due to injuries, especially their receivers. Their bye week is in week 14, the latest it could possibly be, meaning their players will be worn out around the 12-13 week where they do have easy games against the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers.
The Indianapolis Colts claimed their wins over the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, and the Tennessee Titans. Their point differential is +47 which is the highest out of every 3-0 team. Their running back Jonathan Taylor has two AFC player of the week titles and he is currently the best running back in the league. Their quarterback Daniel Jones is one of the best quarterbacks in the league right now. The Colts went 8-9 last season, now they are expected to be one of the best teams in the league.
