The NFL season is here! Along with many other sports updates, such as American football, baseball, hockey, basketball, and soccer.
National Football League (NFL) – The first regular season game is complete, featuring the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles took the win 24-20, making them the first team to get a win. In the American Football Conference (AFC) there are four divisions, north, south, east and west. In the AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens are favored to win their division, with the Cincinnati Bengals in second. In the AFC South the Houston Texans are the favorites to win, followed by the Indianapolis Colts. In the AFC East, the Buffalo Bills are favored to win, with the New England Patriots behind them. Finally, in the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs are the favorites, followed closely by both the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos. In the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles are favored to win, the Washington Commanders with a close second. Finally, in the NFC West, the San Francisco 49ers are the favorites to win, although the Los Angeles Rams are also strong contenders. In the AL Central The Detroit Tigers lead their division, following them are the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Guardians. In the AL West the Houston Astros lead, behind are the Seattle Mariners, and the Texas Rangers. In the National League (NL) East, the Philadelphia Phillies are leading followed by the New York Mets and the Miami Marlins. In the NL Central, the Brewers, who currently have the best record lead, are followed by the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds. In the National League (NL) West, the Los Angeles Dodgers lead, followed by the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. The top world series contenders in the American League are the Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers. In the National League the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the reigning champions. The Philadelphia Phillies, and the Milwaukee Brewers are also expected to have a chance at the championship.
National Hockey League (NHL) – The first regular season NHL game is on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, featuring the reigning champions the Florida Panthers and the Chicago Blackhawks. The likely winners of the Stanley Cup winners are once again the Florida Panthers, Las Vegas Golden Knights, Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche, and the Edmonton Oilers. Potential dark horses or teams to look out for are the Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, Utah Mammoth.
National Basketball Association (NBA) – The first regular season NBA game is on October 21 at 7:30pm MT, featuring the 1st and 2nd seeds of the Western Conference the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets. In the Western Conference, the reigning champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, are predicted to grab the first seed once again. Following them are the Houston Rockets at the second seed. After them are the Denver Nuggets who are predicted at the three seed. Following them are the Minnesota Timberwolves at the four seed. Fifth, the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers are tied. In the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers are predicted to grab the first seed once again. At the second seed, the Boston Celtics are the most likely to take it. The Orlando Magic are expected to take the three seed. The Atlanta Hawks are predicted to take the four seed. Finally, the Detroit Pistons are predicted to snatch the five seed.
Major League Soccer (MLS) – The MLS is 28 games into their 34 game season. In the Western Conference, San Diego FC leads with a record of 16-5-7 with a goal differential (GD) of 19. Following them in 2nd and 3rd place are Minnesota United FC with a 14-8-6 record, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC with a 14-7-6 record. In the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia Union leads with a record of 16-6-6 with a GD of 22. Following them in 2nd and 3rd place are FC Cincinnati with a 16-4-8, and Nashville SC 15-5-8 record.
