As of Easter day, ( April 20, 2025 ) Pope Francis has passed away at 88 years old. His cause of death was pneumonia, in which he had been staying in a hospital 5 weeks previously. The day he died he also went to St. Peter’s Square to give an Easter day blessing and he also went to prison to give his blessing and good wishes to the inmates.
Pope Francis’s full name was Jorge Mario Bergoglio and was born December 17, 1936 in Flores, a neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. His passions involved dancing, basketball, education, and especially his religion. Pope Francis was known for his kind persona, respect for indigenous people, and acceptance of gay and other sexualities. These characteristics helped him become XVI Pope in 2013. Pope Francis made many positive and uplifting impacts throughout his 12 years of leadership.
