The championship playoffs for college football are done. With Notre Dame and Ohio State playing each other in the finals. They both had a 14-2 record with Notre Dame at 7th seed and ranked 5th in the world. Ohio State was ranked 6th in the world and 8th seed. They played in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
It was a close match between Ohio State and Notre Dame, with Notre Dame scoring first giving them a first quarter lead of seven. In the second quarter, Ohio broke through scoring a whopping 21 points. After halftime Ohio scored another 10 points to put them 24 points ahead. In the last quarter of the game Ohio scored 3 and Notre Dame with 8. The final score was 34 to 23.
It was Ohio State’s first championship since 2014 having a historical run. Will Howard took the MVP of the game. This is the 9th championship they have won. Last year Michigan won the championship but didn’t make the championship playoffs this year.
