The 2024 grammys was a big change from what everyone expected with Dochiie Sabrin Carpenter and Chappell Roan winning their first grammy. The Big four awards are Album of the Year, Record of the year, Song of the year and Best New Artist. In 2024 many artists made new albums, hit singles and many many songs all together so let’s look at some of the biggest accomplishments this year at the Grammys.
Best new artist. In the past year a lot of New artists have skyrocketed and they have become names of music in the 20s. Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Shaboozey, as well as Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, Raye, Doechii and Khruangbin. WIth chappell Roan taking the overall award. While she took this award she took time to point out how the music industries health care could be better said. “Labels we got you but do you got us.”.
The Album Years nominees where Cowboy Carter: By Beyoncé ,New Blue Sun: By André 3000, Short n’ Sweet: By Sabrina Carpenter, Brat: By Charli XCX, Djesse ,Vol. 4: By Jacob Collier, Hit Me Hard and Soft: By Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess: By Chappell Roan, and The Tortured Poets Department: By Taylor Swift. This was a very popular category and lots of artists were nominated for it. Ultimately though, Cowboy Carter took the win.
The song of the year was a category that kept people on their toes and excited. Record of the year is a category where they choose a specific song from the album, usually the most popular and they compete to see which album had the best song. By ChappellRoan, Dan Nigro and Justin Transfer, Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter, Julian Banetta, and Nathen Dantizler. Lastly TEXAS HOLD ‘EM by Beyonce, Raphael Saadiq, and Bulow!
