Recently at Flagstaff academy there have been lots of service projects that have happened and that are coming up. There has been a sock drive run by our schools NJHS and the Can food drive for November run by Stuco.  This year the sock drive was put together by our NJHS. They collected socks throughout the whole month of october to send to homeless shelters as this was a required item. NJHS Counted up the totals of socks donated and they got 389 socks donated! 

Then our yearly can food drive was run by our student council this year. They had students across the school bring in cans throughout the whole school. THey would have students bring in cans to their classroom decorated boxes with classrooms competing to see which could collect the most cans. Then at the end of the month all the cans were collected and counted. The total of the can food drive for 2024 was….791 pounds of cans. 

Our December service project was the Toys for tots donations. This project collected gifts for kids who can’t afford presents during the holidays. Toys for Tots has people donate gifts before the holidays. You can find things like this at stores and other places but this year we did it at our school. During the lights festival people brought in toys and donated them, They got two big boxes filled with 57 toys total. Also decorations were donated and they got 8 walls worth of decorations. That’s a lot of food, Socks and toys for people.
