Sports Update-September

In September, there have been a lot of sports heating up or just beginning. The MLB season is coming to an end, and the NFL season is in full swing. In the MLB, the New York Yankees clinched the AL East, which is their division, with a win over the Baltimore Orioles, 10-1 on September 26th. In more MLB news the Cleveland Guardians clinched their division, the AL Central, with the Kansas City Royals losing to the San Francisco Giants, 9-0 on September 21st. The Houston Astros clinched their division the AL West, with a 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners on September 24th. In more MLB news, the Philadelphia Phillies clinched their division the NL East for the first time since 2011, with a 6-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on September 23rd. In the NL Central, the Milwaukee Brewers clinched the NL Central when the Oakland Athletics defeated the Chicago Cubs, 5-3 on September 19th. In the NL West, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 9-0 on September 26th.
Another sporting event that is happening in September is the NFL season. The NFL season kicked off Thursday, September 5th, with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Baltimore Ravens 27-20. We’re now in week 4 of the season, and some of the better teams are not what the fans expected to begin the season. According to ESPN, the top 5 teams in the NFL so far are the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and the Detroit Lions. The Kansas City Chiefs have some key wins against the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. They are 3-0, and playing the Los Angeles Chargers on September 29th. The Buffalo Bills have big wins against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins. They are 3-0 as well, and are playing the Baltimore Ravens on September 29th. Next, the Minnesota Vikings have big wins against the San Francisco 49ers and the Houston Texans. They are also undefeated through 3 games, and play the Green Bay Packers on September 29th. Fourth on the power rankings are the Seattle Seahawks. They have some good wins against the Denver Broncos and the Miami Dolphins. They are set to play the Detroit Lions on September 30th. Finally the Detroit Lions are ranked 5th on the list, and have key wins against the Los Angeles Rams and the Arizona Cardinals. They play the Seattle Seahawks on September 30th.
