Pumpkin Pie – Nora Wayman
Pumpkin pie is better. Not only does pumpkin pie have more nutrients, protein, and benefits for your health, it also is delicious! When I think of fall, I think of pumpkin spice, pumpkins, and the nostalgic fall feeling, and these are all things that pumpkin pie gives me. The way the pumpkin filling just fills my taste buds with unique flavor and the savory crust compliments the sweet filling so well. Unlike apple pie, pumpkin pie stays fresh and flavorful. When I smell pumpkin pie, I feel so at peace and happy. I have so many fond memories of making or watching my dad make pumpkin pie and I will admit apple pie is good, but not as amazing as pumpkin! There are also so many yummy spices that really just bring the sweet treat together. Every aspect of the pumpkin pie is perfect, especially when you put some whipped cream or ice cream with it. It’s perfect! Also my grandma always made pumpkin pie so Ben is a liar. Also not to mention, apple pie takes a lot of effort and when you’re tired after a long day and want a quick and easy yet delicious dessert to satisfy your hunger pumpkin pie is the best option. If you are a real one you know that pumpkin pie is an all year round treat. So in conclusion if you want the perfect sweet treat and have to choose between pumpkin or apple pie….. Do the right thing and choose pumpkin!
Apple Pie – Ben Cooney
I think that apple pie is so much better than pumpkin pie. I like pumpkin pie but apple pie just has a better tang to it. The crust is savory while the apples are soft and sweet. It all flows so well together and is always such a nice treat on a snowy day. Apple pie also has more fiber, potassium and less added sugars. The fibers will help you digest and speed up bowel movements so you can eat more during the big thanksgiving feast. It has more antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. With the cinnamon apples you get anti-inflammatory properties for better blood-sugar regulation. Apple pie is more of a staple of the U.S. than pumpkin pie. For example, your grandma always made apple pie, never pumpkin. How many times have you seen pumpkin pie served at a restaurant, not a lot! How many times have you seen apple pie served at a restaurant, a lot! Pumpkin pie is usually only for the fall months while apple pie is more of a year round treat. Apple pie is a worldwide dish meaning different cultures enjoy the apple pie while pumpkin pie is mainly an only american dish, meaning different cultures do not enjoy it! If you want to be in the right and not support the liar Nora, go for apple!
