The 2024-2025 Premier League season has started! The Premier League is 1st division English football and is considered one of the best leagues in the world. There is lots of optimism in the air in hopes of Man City’s winning streak of four league trophies to end. Arsenal have high hopes for this season after placing runner up for the second time. With a new signing for the team, Calafiori, the young Italian defender, they have much more squad depth. Arsenal have the capacity to win the league but always fall short cracking down on pressure.
West Ham have made plenty of signings and have a new starting eleven. With 8 new signings and releasing 6 of their players and putting 10 on loan. They seek to get at least a 7th place finish. With getting a new German striker, Niclas Fullkrug, who showed lots composure under pressure during the Euros hopes to be scoring lots of goals for West Ham. Also with a loan of Kalvin Phillips who will create chances and link players up in the midfield.
Joao Felix, a Portuguese striker has signed back to the blue North London team, Chelsea. As Joao Felix said, “I’m really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can’t wait to get started.” As the transfer deadline, where you can’t buy or sell players after that deadline, is about to end and teams are rushing to snag players, so expect to see lots of new signings.
Arsenal are looking for a new striker to replace Gabriel Jesus, preferably Victor Oshimen or Viktor Gyokeres. Oshimen costs around £100m and Gyokeres about £68m.Oshimen would be the safe choice but Gyokeres is overpriced but could also be the next star. Personally Oshimen would be my choice because he’s proved himself in the Italian league while Gyokeres is only in the Portuguese league.
10 matches have happened throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday. With Ipswich Town being promoted from Division 2, it was exciting to see them play against Liverpool, which are one of the best teams in the world, only lose by 2 goals. A cool fact about Ipswich Town is that they are sponsored by Ed Sheeran since Ipswich always made him feel like he fit in when he visited. This also shows that kindness can always lead back to you. Arsenal had a strong start to the season by winning 2 to 0 against Wolves. Man City also won 2 up against Chelsea. West Ham lost against Aston Villa who are a very solid team and finished 4th in the season last year. This season is set to be a very exciting season and is going to be very fun watching all the games this year!
