What’s happening?
The war in the Ukraine is currently in a stalemate – but it is beginning to turn towards the side of Russia. Russia has captured more land and Ukraine is beginning to lose its ability to efficiently fight back. Russia is also very likely to begin a large offensive campaign very soon.
The US House passed the bill for 60 billion dollars of aid for Ukraine. This package has the potential to change the course of the war, which we will explore in this article.
What are Ukraine’s needs?
The biggest things that Ukraine needs are artillery shells and antiaircraft munitions. Thus far, they have both played a key role in the war. However, Ukraine is running low on its supplies, which has been very detrimental to Ukraine’s resistance.
Beyond needed weapons, the aid will be able to provide more training for the Ukrainian military. It will also allow for Ukrainian troops to learn how to use certain weapons that they have been given by the Western allies, which could be very beneficial.
What could this package do?

Ukraine will likely put a lot of effort into defending its countryside (near Kharkiv, the country’s second largest city) and on the eastern front near Avdiivka, which was recently taken over by Russian forces. This aid would also allow for Ukraine to potentially launch an offensive campaign at the start of 2025. Ukraine has been focusing on maintaining and fighting back for the land that has been taken, and an offensive approach could be a game changer for the course of the war.
Ukraine’s goal is to fight back all the land that Russia has taken. However, many experts believe that this may not be realistic. They do believe that it is possible for Ukraine to keep the majority of its land and to integrate into the economical and strategical
