Lizzo is not only known for being a singer, but also a trailblazer for body positivity. Now, she has created a new swim line called Yitty Shapewear to encourage body neutrality. The brand originally was created in 2022, and is now celebrating their anniversary of 2 years with the new Yitty Swimwear.
Who is Lizzo?
Lizzo is a 35 year old Grammy Award winning singer, rapper, and also Fashion Entrepreneur. She was known as a pathmaker for fat accapants, and is known for her impact on body positivity.
What is Yitty Shapewear?
The creator Lizzo created Yitty Shapewear as a movement for self love. The brand Yitty was produced in a partnership with Fabletics, the “parent” company to Yitty Shapewear. According to the Teaser that was released showed “An extension of the line of bras, leggings and other shapewear.” The size range should be from 6XL to XS, and use a stretchy combination of nylon and spandex similar to brands such as Skims and Savage x Fenty.
What is the impact?
What is the impact of Yitty? Well the new swimline was created because the creator herself has tried to squeeze into swimsuits. As she did not want others to do the same, she embraced the idea of body positivity, and she claims that “ This line is about Freedom.” This has become a movement that urges the concept of loving yourself whatever you look like, and now is a movement to shape the beauty standard of our time.
