Tik Tok may be getting banned in the United States. They would like to ban this because it’s a national security risk. It’s a risk because there are over 170 million people who have the app, so it is automatically the largest consumer of the media and with this the app is run by a government that is in direct competition with the United States. 

Many creators have spoken out about this ban for example, there was a protest and some things brought up where it could affect the economy nationally. Creators are protesting this considering that most thai is how they are making money. People like James Charles and others have spoken about this. 

This new ban has already passed through the house. Iff the Senate says yes, after that Joe Biden has already agreed to sign the law. After all of this happens, the China company has five to six months to sell it over to an American state. America wants to have control of it because they want to know what American viewers think they are seeing and selling. 

There are many opinions on this including the economy. Even though at the moment there is low unemployment and there is also falling inflation it will affect the United states extremely harshly. Many of the creators on Tik Tok make a good chunk of money off of it so this would make many people without jobs. People also use Tik Tok to promote their business and this would also make an impact on the economy
