Protests have erupted all over the nations in protests to the Palestine genocide by Israel. These protests have been exceedingly criticized by government officials and pro-Israel organizations. Some sources have reported that they view the protests as “antisemitic” and “[contributing] to anti-Jewish hatred, including on university campuses.” (Serino) Some campuses were criticized for giving “legalistic” answers on opposing Jewish genocide.
NBC news reported that a pro-Palestine protest had blocked traffic in downtown Boston on March 4, breaking up at around 9:30 AM that day. Sarinya Srisakul, an organizer for the Asians 4 Palestine NYC organization said that “A lot of us march in the parade every year with different groups, but this was the year where we couldn’t really fully celebrate without talking about what’s happening in Palestine.” Chinatown’s East Broadway market was also flooded by protestors handing out information about the Gaza conflict.
Protestors also gathered near a campaign event for President Biden, hoping to get his attention. They criticized him, “calling on him to support a ceasefire in Gaza and end military aid to Israel.” (Thorud) Protestors encouraged Biden to oppose Netanyahu.
