Recently, my family and I watched the new Mean Girls movie. Until five minutes into the movie, I did not realize it was a musical. Personally, I find musicals to be awful, but I decided to give the movie a chance. In the end, I was sorely disappointed. The words never matched the songs and they were put on at random times. They not only did not make sense, but also were usually not in tune. Other than the songs, the movie was a copy and paste of the original, but with worse actors. Regina George looked too old to be in highschool, which I have heard as a complaint from many. She also constantly sang, “My name is Regina George, and I am a massive deal.” Like, okay girl, we know, maybe sing it in tune next time. Overall, the movie was terrible and not worth the $19.99 spent on the rental. Unless you enjoy musicals with awful music and reused jokes with dust on them, I do not recommend anyone watch this.
