This past Wednesday, February 28, was Mr. Rahal’s last day here at Flagstaff. He was interviewed asking where he was going, his favorite things at Flagstaff, and the community he has built. In the interview he stated that he is moving to Stargates School. He is very excited to start his journey there because gets to work with highschoolers. 

Favorite Traditions

One of his favorite traditions at Flagstaff is the eighth grade graduation, and seeing students fulfill their journeys at Flagstaff. “It’s truly a bittersweet moment,” he stated, “but it is amazing to see.”  

Staff Family and Friends

Mr. Rahal has been here at Flagstaff as a parent and staff member for over 25 years. He has made many friends, and touched on a few of the many coworkers who have helped his journey here at the school. “A coworker I have really enjoyed working with is Ms. Reh. I worked with her in tech, and it stuck with me because it is so close to my heart. We once had a teacher named Ms. Mcfarland and Mr. Starr, which they both helped my student through school. I’ve seen this school from both a parent and staff standpoint. Everyone has been a really important person in my journey.” His viewpoint highlighted the importance of community we have at school, and how they impact our everyday lives. 

Mr. Rahal said he will most miss the community and students at Flagstaff. One of his best friends, Mr. Rehder, has been working with him for years as well as Mr. Joe, who is also his roommate. Mr. Rehder said, “I have never worked with anyone better, what a wonderful human being Mr. Rahal is.” He will miss Mr. Rahal as much as all of us.

Mr. Rahal also stated that his job will be sorely missed, “My favorite thing about my job at Flagstaff is just doing it in general. I love my job. I got started doing computer networking because I enjoy the puzzle of building systems of networking.” It is clear that Mr. Rahal’s job is fairly important to him, as much as his friends and family are.
