Stanley cups: you hate them or you love them. Where did these cups come from? And why are they so popular? Well they started taking off a lot in 2019 and have gotten more popular throughout the years. They have gotten more clout through social media influences and people getting different accessories. They started getting a higher demand and having more colors. They started getting made in 1913 and it’s crazy how long the brand started and they are still popular and thriving.

Madness happened on December 31. People were lined up outside of America’s Targets, Camping in tents waiting patiently. For what were they waiting for? Tvs, Jewelry, no “a limited edition Stanley cup.”  What makes these cups so special?  Something that made these cups valuable was how they were collabing with Starbucks to make these one of a kind cups, Also these cups are a color that is not already out yet. So of course every person who wanted one waited outside to quote on quote “Secure the Goods. 

When the doors opened chaos broke out. People ran to the stand with the cups on them to add to their collection  . There are many videos shown of people fighting over the variety of shades of pink and red cups, And a few different signs. In a specific video that surfaced around social media you can see a man in the background grabbing multiple cups despite there being a sign that says  “2 cup limit per person”. 

  Some people would do anything to get their hands on one of these cups. People on facebook and other social media platforms were willing to trade things for them. The biggest that someone was once trading was a 4 room house, And the resale price on sites like ebay there bidding as high as 250 dollars. While these cups only cost around fifty dollars so they’re selling for 5 times the price.
