This last Sunday we had the Super Bowl, with the Kansas City Chiefs playing against the 49ers. The game took place for the first time in Las Vegas, at the Allegiant Stadium.
Quarter I
The game started with a coin flip, with the Chiefs choosing tails. The coin landed on heads, giving the 49ers the start with the ball. After an intense quarter, the 49ers and Chiefs were tied 0-0.
Quarter II
Starting the quarter the 49ers kicker, Jake Moody, made the first goal of the game. With a kick at the start, Moody gained three points for his team. By the end of the quarter, the 49ers were in the lead 10-3 after having one touchdown.
Quarter III
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker knocked in a 57-yard field goal, to go down in history as the longest field goal in Super Bowl history, making the score 10-6. The 49ers were leading with 4 points, with just 20 minutes left in the game.
Quarter IV
With just 20 minutes left in the game, the two teams ended with a tie, causing them to go into overtime. The two teams ended the fourth quarter with a tying score of 19-19, with the Chiefs gaining a strong advantage.
Overtime
Sunday’s Super Bowl goes down in history’s seventh longest super bowl. Overtime was a stressful time for both teams. During overtime the 49ers gained one successful field goal, and the Chiefs had a well done touchdown winning them the game with three seconds to spare in the extra quarter.
Results
The game was a win for many, as well as a loss for many. It was very well played from both of the teams, and made history in many ways. 49ers fans were sorely disappointed, because if it had not been for the missed kick goal, they would have won super bowl XXIV and made an incredible comeback from the 2020 Super Bowl.
