Broncos Update
This 2023 season the Denver Broncos have played much better than in their recent seasons. A few coaching changes occurred, including the change of head coach. On February 3rd, Sean Payton replaced former head coach Nathaniel Hackette, and named the 20th head coach in franchise history.
As well as coaching changes, roster changes happened as well. 54 more players were signed, with at least four released. Currently, no players are on suspension for injuries.
This season the Broncos improved upon their 5-12 record from the previous season, after defeating the Cleveland Browns. At this time, the Broncos have a 23.3% chance of securing a spot in the playoffs.
The Playoffs
The end of the football season is nearing and with that comes the postseason. Starting on Jan. 13, 14 teams will compete for the ultimate prize, the Super Bowl. But how are these 14 teams decided? There are two conferences, AFC and NFC. Each conference sends 7 teams. The number one seed, (or team that has won the most) skips the first round. Currently the Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles are the first seeded teams, but this could change in the coming weeks. The next three slots go to the other three division champions. Finally, the last three slots are given to the “Wild Card” teams or the remaining teams with the best records. Ties are broken by a number of factors like win percentage in their division, how hard of teams played, and how they played against each other.
Currency, the Philadelphia Eagles are favored to win the Super Bowl with an 100.00% chance to make the playoffs and a 26.02% chance of winning the Super Bowl. The Chiefs are currently ranked second likely to win with a 15.64% chance of winning. A few other top contenders are: The Baltimore Ravens (14.40%), San Francisco 49ers (12.55%), Dallas Cowboys (6.76%), and the Miami Dolphins (6.87%).
