Disney is going to release a combined Disney+ and Hulu app in 2024. The app is going to be released in beta for bundle subscribers in December, with the official launch happening in spring of 2024. Disney will buy Comcast’s 33% stake in Hulu for more than $8 billion. Disney also made a deal with Charter, allowing them to bundle Disney+ with their Spectrum TV packages.
Lately Disney has been hiking the prices of all of its bundles, with the Trio Basic bundle costing $2 more, the Trio Premium bundle (ad-free version) costing $5 more, and the Legacy bundle (which is no longer available for purchase but existing subscribers might have) costing $4 more. Only 2 bundles didn’t increase in price, Duo Basic and Duo Premium, introduced in September, which bundle Disney+ and Hulu.
The new bundle may impact streaming by straining families that cannot afford the bundles or only want one service. It will also change how the bundles will be formatted and their rates.
