We are in the middle of a technological revolution. New and improving creations like AI are proving to be extremely useful in doing repeating tasks and preventing human error. AI cars are even more useful in preventing accidents. AI chatbots in programming sandboxes are very useful in preventing errors in your code. However, some believe that AI should not be promoted and improved. There has been a spike in cheating and plagiarism ever since ChatGPT was made public, as students are claiming that an essay written by AI is their own work. Teachers must now use AI detection software to determine whether a student’s allegedly “original work” is actually their own.

ChatGPT and other generative AI softwares like Character AI have caused an uproar of writers and artists. Some creators are using it to generate content that isn’t their own, which is upsetting other creators who would rather create their content all on their own. However, resources such as Character AI can be a useful tool for creators who would like to get to know their characters better. 

However negative AI can be to society, there are still pros to consider. AI can be used to do repetitive tasks that humans will have trouble doing. People who are working in finance can use AI to rapidly check through thousands of data sets. AI can also be used to write repetitive lines of code for programmers, which would probably take hours without help. AI is a useful tool, but it’s important to be mindful of how you are using it.
