Ingredients:

  • 30 Oreo Cookies (or 339 grams)
  • 4 Ounces of Low Fat Cream Cheese (cold, ½ a brick)
  • 6 Ounces of White Chocolate Melting Wafers (or good quality white chocolate chips)
  • 5 Ounces of Dark or Milk Chocolate Melting Wafers (or good quality chocolate chips)
  • ¼ Cup of Chocolate Icing (homemade or store bought)
  • 24 Rolo Candies
  • Edible Markers (to make the eyes and lips)

Directions:

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  2. In a food processor, pulse the oreos until they are very finely chopped.
  3. Add the cream cheese and pulse until they are mixed together.
  4. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until it is firmer and cold. This should be about 10-20 minutes.
  5. Roll the mixture into balls and place them on the baking sheet (if you spray your hands with non-stick spray, it will speed up the process and not make your hands sticky).
  6. Place the truffles in the refrigerator until firm (about 20 minutes).
  7. Heat the white chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring every now and then. Be very careful not to burn the chocolate.
  8. Dip each truffle in the white chocolate and then place it back on the baking sheet. Put it in the refrigerator until the chocolate is hard (about minutes).
  9. Heat the milk or dark chocolate the same way as before, being careful not to burn the chocolate and stirring occasionally.
  10. Dip each side of the truffle into the chocolate to create the “hair line” (see picture above for example). When done, place them back on the baking sheet.
  11. Put them back in the fridge to set the chocolate (about 20 minutes)
  12. With each truffle, place a small bit of icing on each side where the hair is. Then add a Rolo candy to each side where you applied the icing. This will create the space buns.
  13. Again, allow them to sit in the fridge until the buns are stuck on.
  14. Now, use the edible markers to draw a face on the truffles!
  15. Enjoy and May the Fourth be with you!
