There is a surge of immigrants trying to enter the U.S.A. from Mexico. 2.8 million migrants were denied access into the U.S.A. last year, which crushes previous records. Due to this, President Biden has had to increase the security at the border and has had to work with Mexico to try and stop people from illegally coming into the U.S.A. To try and scare people from trying to come into the U.S. illegally, the U.S. and Mexican governments have had to use more forceful tactics to stop people from crossing. After migrants enter the U.S. some of them are sent to Mexico to live there instead. And on top of that President Biden just passed a policy that would ban certain groups from getting asylum if they crossed the border without authorization and instead they would be sent to Mexico. Biden received a lot of push back because of this action. Most likely more migrants are coming into the US because Latin America was hit really hard by the pandemic making living conditions really bad. hen Biden was elected he vowed to use more humane ways to stop immigrants from coming into the U.S. When he was first elected, he tried to stop expelling people from the U.S. but now with the uptick in migrants he has had to start sending people back to Mexico. This is putting a strain on the Mexican government because it’s already struggling with resources. Now, the U.S. and Mexican government have come up with a short term solution, they will send 30,000 migrants to Mexico per month and the U.S. will allow 30,000 people who fit all of the requirements for coming into the U.S. and don’t use the Mexican border come into the states.
