“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” A Tale of Two Cities tells the story of the French Doctor Manette. After his 18-year-long imprisonment in the Bastille in Paris he is released to live in London with his daughter Lucie who he has never met. The story switches between France and England and tells the story of both cities. The story is set right before  the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror.

My favorite quote from this book is “All I ask is that you occasionally think of me kindly, and know always that there’s a man who would willingly give his life for you.” (Dickens 66).
