Scientists are Concerned About Fire Season

Elizabeth Robbins and Azriel Watson

Recently in Colorado, there have been fires outside of fire season. These include the Marshall Fire and the NCAR Fire. Colorado has also been in a drought for a long time, making things drier and easier to burn. On windy days if something was ignited, then the sparks would fly far and spread fast. This is making scientists concerned about the fire season because Colorado has already had devastating fires, and those weren’t during fire season. In Colorado we are lucky to have NOAA, CU, and many other great weather organizations. These organizations are looking at the effects of climate change and the upcoming weather so we can be prepared for fires in the future.
