In the winter 2022 Olympics America got 8 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals. Kaillie Humphries, Nathan Chen, Alexander Hall, the mixed aerials team, Lindsey Jacobellis, Chloe Kim, the mixed snowboard cross team, and Erin Jackson all received gold medals! To close out the Olympics Beijing had a closing ceremony in the nest, the bird’s nest was also used in a previous summer Olympics. In the closing ceremony there was dancing, fireworks, and symbolic activities. And of course the passing of the flag, where the Olympic flag is passed on to the country that will host the 2026 winter olympics. The next country to host the winter Olympics is Italy. And for the first time two cities will host the olympics. The two cities are Milan and Cortina. Milan is known for its architecture and skylines. Cortina is known for its nature and architecture.
